I'm a fan of food, video games and technology. With an interest in these areas, I have a lot to write about.
My love for cooking and video games came from my family. I was never too far from the kitchen, where I helped whip up meals with my mother and grandmother. And growing up with my older siblings, I was also fortunate to have exposure to every gaming system that’s arrived on the market, starting with the NES.
I find that I am drawn to similar aspects of food and gaming — social justice, inclusion, mental health, innovation and pop culture. My voice throughout my work is all about centering underrepresented voices or questioning spaces that shut underrepresented people out.
Currently, I am an Associate Editor at 14 East Magazine at DePaul University, and I freelance for various media spaces. I have a B.A. from DePaul University and an Ed.M. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. This summer, I’ll graduate with an M.A. in Multimedia Journalism.
You’ll find me either playing one of my favorite games or eating something new.
And if you are looking to partner on something, feel free to contact me.
