I'm a fan of food, video games and technology. With an interest in these areas, I have a lot to write about.
My love for cooking and video games came from my family. I was never too far from the kitchen, where I helped whip up meals with my mother and grandmother. And growing up with my older siblings, I was also fortunate to have exposure to every gaming system that’s arrived on the market, starting with the NES.
I find that I am drawn to similar aspects of food, gaming, and tech — social justice, inclusion, mental health, innovation and pop culture. My voice throughout my work is all about centering underrepresented voices or questioning spaces that shut underrepresented people out.
I graduated from DePaul University with a Master of Arts in Multimedia Journalism. I have a B.A. from DePaul University and an Ed.M. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
I'm currently a Commerce Writer at CNET, a freelancer at Nerd Street and an alum of Vox Media's inaugural Media Writers Workshop.
